This mural is called "A Saint in Wynwood", and it comes from a very simple, yet very powerful idea: José Gregorio also walks these streets.
For me, José Gregorio Hernández is not just a religious figure. He is an emotional, cultural, and human presence. He is someone who represents silent faith, active compassion, science with conscience. And in this time, when so many Venezuelans live far from home, he has also migrated with us.
I imagine him in Wynwood, not as a spectator, but as part of the city. Modern, elegant, serene, walking among urban art, graffiti, tourists, and migrants. He doesn't need an altar, because his temple is the heart of those who still believe.
This mural is my way of saying that José Gregorio is no longer just in prayer cards or Venezuelan hospitals. He is also here, in Miami, in Wynwood, among walls that speak and colors that beat.
He is part of our history, but also of our present.
A Saint in Wynwood is a tribute, yes. But it is also a declaration:
spirituality also moves.
And José Gregorio continues to accompany, regardless of geography.
